"Largo Sidewalk" , Largo, MD

Client - Prince George's County Department of Public Works

Project Engineer/Architect - JMT

Media - FŌTERA® structural concrete

Dimensions - FŌTERA®: 4' x 6' each, and engraved bricks spanning over 2 miles of sidewalk

30 FOTERA concrete Icons symbolic of Maryland are set into the sidewalk connecting the Largo Town Center and the Morgan Boulevard Metro stations. Brick pavers engraved with poetry, quotations and factual references spiral out from each Icon. Two mosaic walls, one that highlights the local historic figure Garrett Morgan and one that includes a 20' compass rosette mosaic in front of it, complete the design. As commuters move between the stations and to their places of business or residence, they read the passages and view the colorful mosaics and FOTERA concrete Icons.

The mosaic portion of this section was fabricated by Cheryl Foster.
